Mitsubishi Japan launches their latest eco-friendly car I-miev this month. The 1st model in the I-miev series was launched in 2005. The I-miev is an electric car. It can trzvel upto 160 km in one charging.
The I-miev uses high capacity 88 Lithium ion batteries for storing energy. The full charging time of the battery is 14 hrs in a 100v line and 7 hrs in a 200v line.
The maximum power of engine is 63 bhp. The maximum torque is 180 Nm@2000 rpm. When brakes are applied the energy is not dissipated and instead is converted into elecricity and stored in battery.
The transmission is 1 - speed. The top speed of i-miev is 130 kmh. The Kerb weight is 1100 kg. I - miev also has a navigation system developed by Mitsubishi. The Mitsubishi is launching I - miev in Japan only now.
The ex.showroom price is 19.71 lakhs.
